This week Yuan talked to us about the History of Asian Animation. I found this to be really interesting since i’m into Anime.
We were told about how the Chinese animators based their animations on old tales and so this was a bit different compared to the European Animation we were told about at the start were they just used shapes and colour which was timed with the music. It was a bit more similar to the Zagreb Animations where it was telling a story. I really liked seeing the animations made with ink, it really amazes me at how people have the time to be so patient and create such pretty animations.
After the Chinese animation we were told about Japanese Animation. The animators we focused on was Ozamu Tezuka , Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki. I will have more notes for them later on in separate posts.
