Creative Elements – Animatic – 4th – 10th Nov 2014

This week we had to work on creating an Animatic. My team was the same as the last time. We continued with the halloween theme and decided that we wanted the story to be based upon the events which happen every halloween.  This is our whiteboard with some of our ideas before we decided on the final one.

The final idea we went with was that at halloween the creature planet eats a sweet, the candy people then inhabit the town and live here. One of the candy people the finds the resurrection stone and it turns him into a zombie, this then leads to everyone in the town turning into a zombie. Only a few of the candy people survive as they manage to escape thanks to an old veteran who has a storage of weapons to get out.

After we brainstromed we decided to come up with a plan on what to do this week as Conann had mentioned on the Monday that to get things done on time we need to be more organised and give people tasks to do which we then all work through.

Here is the Plan that Edward, Aisling and Myself came up with.

After decideing this we got to work on storybaording our ideas. To start of with we created used bits of paper made rough sketches and organised them on the window like so,

We then went home and worked on the scenes we were assigned to do. I started off with quick sketches in my book and i kept doing these until i got the order I wanted to which I then made better versions.

While creating our parts in the animatic we also had to create concept art to help give an idea of what this place looks like since the previous team didn’t have much concept art done for the inside of this creature planet.

This week I had little motivation so i was struggling to create decent art for the team.

I made videos throughout the process of creating my part of the animatic to make sure they worked ok
